What is ACP Awning? What Is Poly Awning?
Usually when we want to install a new awning in this house, there must be some main locations that are the choice of the heart of the husband and the wife.
- Awning Porch in front of the house
- The roof behind the house, with a laundry area
- Awning on the upper veranda
- Additional awning roof on the side of the house
- Mix and match between all of the above
Let’s understand what an acp awning is, and what is a poly awning?
Polycarbonate is a strong thermoplastic material that is lightweight and can withstand extremely low and high temperatures. This durable and practical roofing material is perfect for conservatories, patios, and deck areas, but it’s not practical to cover the entire roof of a house
Aluminum composite panels (ACP), made of aluminum composite material (ACM), are flat panels consisting of two thin coil-coated aluminum sheets bonded to a non-aluminum core. ACPs are frequently used for external cladding or facades of buildings, insulation, and signage.
Simply put, Polycarbonate is a light thermoplastic material for roofs that is durable and can withstand temperatures at the lowest and highest levels.
ACP is a type of flat material that is built from 3 layers, namely 2 layers of aluminum composite on the top and bottom and is attached with a type of core material in the middle.
For Polycarbonate awning, there are several features that distinguish it from ACP awning:
- Poly is easier to carry because it can be rolled up
- The transparency of light entering through it is 50% to 80% depending on the brand and material
- You can choose whether it is necessary for the solid type (two transparent light parts and a smooth surface) or the emboss type (one smooth surface, one grunting surface. Easier to maintain)
- The price is more expensive because the design is more diverse and looks elegant
- Differences in thickness will result in price changes. (2.5mm, 3.5mm & 4.5mm)
- The durability of this awning is usually 7 – 10 years before you need a new roof
ACP Awning
For ACP awnings, here are some features that distinguish them from Poly awnings:
- Aluminum is a flat material with each board measuring 4 feet wide. Cannot be rolled.
- Light cannot enter, the house will be colder. The basement will reflect light and look more modern.
- A variety of color options on the top, but for the options on the bottom surface, only white and flash silver options are available.
- The price is more cost-effective (cheaper than polycarbonate) and the material is cheaper and durable
- Standard thickness is 2.5mm – 3.0mm
- The durability of this awning is usually 10 – 13 years before you need a new roof
